17D are a small engineering company providing precision machined components and engineering services to a wide variety of local business. Alongside this 17D manufacture are specialist manufacturers of 5 inch and 7.25 inch gauge miniature railway products for enthusiasts and model engineers.
The £25k Business Development Grant awarded from Derbyshire Dales District Council was used to purchase a Doosan DNM4500 CNC machining centre.
The increase in capacity along with the latest technologies incorporated in this state-of-the-art machining centre enables the company to produce components more time efficiently, getting a new design programmed and test run quicker than before. The faster cycle times have enabled greater productivity, thus increasing overall turnover for the business.
Tristan Dengate (Managing Director) says
Derbyshire Dales District Council was extremely helpful and guided us through the grant process. The new machine has been a 'game changer' for our business and has opened doors for us with new customers.
