Ashbourne Elim Church is a community-focused church which, alongside weekly worship services, runs a wide range of community activities including a food bank, youth programs, parent-and-toddler groups and pastoral support. The aim is to serve both the spiritual and practical needs of people in Ashbourne and the wider Derbyshire Dales, The building is thus used throughout the week by a wide variety of people from all backgrounds.
The £18,414 grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council enabled the installation of solar panels on the church roof, reducing the reliance on fossil fuels and helping to lower energy bills. The panels are now generating clean energy and will support the church's long-term financial sustainability.
Adam Venables (Senior Pastor) says:
We’re so thankful for this funding from Derbyshire Dales District Council – the solar panels are already making a difference. This grant doesn’t just help us today, but also secures our ability to support the community well into the future.
