The popular Lathkill Dale campsite at Rowson House Farm, Monyash has benefitted from grants totalling £19,530 from Derbyshire Dales District Council’s UKSPF programme, funded by the UK Government.
Garry Mycock, owner of the site, was looking to reduce the energy bills and carbon footprint – this has successfully been completed with the aid of a £7,780 Business Development Grant to install solar panels on the campsite amenity building roof.
The business was also awarded a £11,750 Decarbonisation Grant for a woodchipper to enable more environmentally friendly practices on the site.
Garry Mycock (Owner) says:
The solar panels and battery installation have been a very worthwhile addition to the business. It is very reassuring to know that we can benefit from the energy produced by the sun to help run the campsite power supply, not only through the day but through the night as well.
