Stoney Middleton Parish Council

A £5,318 Community Resilience Grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council helped fund new equipment at the children’s playground on the playing field at Stoney Middleton

The new multi-play clamber stack with slide is designed for children of all ages, abilities and circumstances to experience challenging, fun and imaginative play. It has thus encouraged local children and families to use the village playground (and safe community space), rather than travel to playgrounds in neighbouring villages.

Consequently, it has helped to enhance the quality of community life and the betterment of the village.

Sue Bettney (Stoney Middleton Parish Councillor) says:

SMPC held a playground design competition to see what kind of play equipment village children wanted. The clamber stack with slide was chosen as it best matched the children’s design requirements.

It has since been reported that they love their new equipment. It has brought them joy and fun.
