Parkside Fitness

Parkside Fitness is a family run independent gym off Chesterfield Road, Matlock. The gym aims to offer a personal and friendly environment to help members achieve their fitness goals.

The gym offers a range of opportunities – including fitness programmes and assessments, cardio training, strength training with weights and a wide range of classes.

To expand the range of equipment and classes available to existing members and attract new members the owner wished to purchase some spin bikes. Classes using these stationary bikes are an increasingly popular form of fitness training.

The purchase of the bikes was enabled by a £6,368 Small Business Adaptation Grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council.

Dean Pratt (owner) says:

With the Small Business Adaptation Grant we were able to purchase 8 spin bikes and start offering spin classes. We are now getting both old and new members using the bikes to improve their fitness. This expansion in our facilities would not have been possible without the grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council.
