Mosley and Kirkwood

Mosley and Kirkwood are third generation livestock farmers at Burley Fields Farm, Darley Dale.

A £25k Business Development Grant from Derbyshire Dales District supported their farm diversification project into rural tourism by enabling them to purchase three geodomes for a new glamping site at the farm. Each dome accommodates up to 5 people in and has its own ensuite facilities, kitchenette, log burnerand wood fired hot tub.

Diversifying into the visitor economy will enhance the farm’s resilience by providing extra income, particularly during the spring and summer months when their farm livestock are young and not yet ready to sell at market. The glampsite will thus help provide long term stability to this family business.

Georgina Mosley (Partner) says:

The advisers at the Derbyshire Dales Rural Innovation Grant team were friendly, very knowledgeable and hugely supportive. They were there every step of the way answering my many questions. Thank you.
