Matlock and Cromford Meadows Cricket Club

The cricket club provides for sporting opportunities within the community through cricket coaching and matches; helping people meet new friends, keep fit and learn new skills. The club has a small indoor facility for social events.

A £15,624 Community Resilience Grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council enabled the creation of a new patio/outdoor social space with attractive balustrading. This has created a more welcoming appearance (including improved disabled access) and created more usable space.

The expanding club now has a flat, usable outdoor social space on which to hold social functions and therefore generate much needed income.

Ray Mullaney (Junior Cricket Organiser) says:

Thanks to the Community Resilience Grant provided by DDDC we have been able to provide members with a highly attractive outdoor area from which they can not only watch the match but also organise social events. The area is already proving a big hit.
