The Grand Pavilion is a charity arts venue in a prominent position in the heart of Matlock Bath. The venue showcases local and national talent and holds community focused events throughout the year. The building is gradually being restored by volunteers with the help of donations, aiming to once again be a focus of the local community.
A £5,095 Small Business Adaptation Grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council enabled the Restoration Café at the Grand Pavilion to invest in a new industrial kitchen oven – which has increased their capacity during busy periods. New items have been introduced to the menu and new systems and procedures introduced.
Alongside this, the café invested in new refrigeration equipment to open up the space in the café. Plus a speciality coffee grinder, something customers have noticed immediately. The grant has enabled staff to increase their skills, diversify the offer and work more efficiently.
Stephen Dolan (Café Manager ) says:
The café applied for the grant in order to rejuvenate its offerings, improve efficiency, and modernise the working environment. As a café that proudly serves locally sourced produce, having the right equipment is crucial to ensure we can do the locality proud. Overall, this grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council has unlocked more of the café and the Pavilion's potential, and we look forward to seeing what comes next!
