D’alessandro’s

D’alessandro’s is a pizzeria on Smedley Street, Matlock which specialises in rustic pizzas crafted from naturally leavened organic dough and prepared with homegrown or locally sourced ingredients.

An £8k Small Business Adaptation Grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council has enabled the owners to upgrade their wood-fired oven to a highly efficient electric PizzaMaster oven, quadrupling their production capacity. The previous oven could only bake two pizzas at a time, often leading to lengthy waiting times. The new one can bake eight pizzas simultaneously, significantly reducing wait times and improving the service. The upgrade also enabled the restaurant to offer a takeaway service.

Benjamin Micklewright (Co-owner) says:

We’re excited to enter our fourth year of serving pizzas in the town of Matlock, Derbyshire. The grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council will play a key role in supporting our growth and ensuring our business remains sustainable for years to come.
